Kate Taylor Walker

Since 1983, Kate Walker, president of Trimtab Communications, has designed and delivered communication skills training for high performance companies. She specializes in presentation skills as well as management and sales training which focus on transforming relationships between people in the workplace.

Kate brings to Trimtab Communications a wealth of personal experience, knowledge and awareness in serving clients such as Apple Computer, Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, Adobe Systems and Tektronix. Over twenty years experience, an undergraduate degree in liberal arts, a Masters in Counseling from Auburn University, and graduate certification in Corporate Communications from the University of Southern California provide Kate with specialized skills in business communications training and consulting.

As a major provider of communications skills training to high performance companies, Kate has delivered Business Presentation Skills, The Professional Presenters' Workshop and Interviewing Skills to Account Executives, Business Development Executives, District and Regional Managers, Systems Engineers, and administrative groups, as well as to the international reseller network. Additionally, she has conducted many customized off-site trainings and new product introduction workshops.

Kate serves as a "surrogate" corporate trainer by facilitating trainings internal to her clients. Examples include Sun Microsystems' New Managers Training: Starting Places for Success and Apple Computer's Interviewing Skills Workshop offered through Apple University. Acting as a ghost writer, Kate also designs and writes sales trainings for delivery to the reseller channel.

To help service and support departments maximize sales of upgrades and new products, Kate designed Activating the Customer Service Sales Force. The purpose of this workshop is to enhance the skills and increase the willingness of the customer service and technical support representatives in converting customer and prospect calls to actual sales or referrals to resellers.

Avocationally, Kate is a renovator of old properties, an artist and a photographer. Like coaching communication skills, Kate looks at what is in front of her, not so much for how it is, but for the possibility of how it could be.

Kate brings a sensitive ability to take individuals from the broadest range of skill and experience and create for each a measurable sense of mastery and ability to produce results. Her training goal is to assist professionals in eliminating whatever stands in their way of successful expression and full contribution to their clients and their team.
